Facebook's messaging company, WhatsApp said on Thursday it will go ahead with its controversial privacy policy update but it will allow users to read it at "their own pace" and they will also display a banner providing additional information.




The messaging platform laid out fresh terms of service in January 2021.

The new policy would allows the owner Facebook and its subsidiaries to collect user's data, including their phone number and location, which leads widespread of criticism and tons of users migrated to other messaging platforms like Telegram and Signal. 


Then whatsApp delayed its new policy launch from February to May and sought in their blog that the update was focused on allowing users to message with businesses and would not affect personal conversations, which will continue to have end-to-end encryption.


In WhatsApp latest blog post, It said it will start reminding users to review and accept updates to keep using the messaging platform, which is going to on in may 2021.
